Idaho Unit 11-Public Land

Rifle Elk:  Sheep Meadow Outfitters now controls the exclusive outfitting business for the world renown Unit 11 located in the lower Hells Canyon, just outside of Lewiston, ID.  SMO has a lot of history hunting Hells Canyon. SMO offers 5 guaranteed fully guided outfitter tags. This allows you to bypass the Idaho big game draw and purchase one of our exclusive Unit 11 elk tags.  Idaho has no preference points, therefore, if you want an opportunity to hunt spectacular Idaho elk country, this hunt provides a guaranteed tag.  In addition to our outfitter allotment, we will guide a handful of draw tag holders.  Preseason scouting is the key to our success.  This hunt takes place in big country and being in good physical condition will give you an edge.  Idaho only offers 50 elk tags for this unit.  This hunt provides the opportunity for 280-340 bulls.  Our camp will consist of deluxe wall tents, full time on-site camp cook with quality food and hot showers.  In some cases, where hunters are comfortable, we will utilize horses/mules.  IDFG does not offer archery elk hunting within Unit 11.

Rifle Deer:  SMO offers 1 guaranteed fully guided outfitter tag.  In addition to our 1 outfitter tag, we will guide a handful of draw tags.  Preseason scouting is the key to our success as we start this process in early summer.  This hunt takes place in big country and being in good physical condition will give you an edge.  Idaho only offers 40 deer tags for this unit.  Our camp will consist of deluxe wall tents, full time on-site camp cook with quality food and hot showers.  Under the right circumstances, bivy hunts will be an option, if that’s what it takes to kill a big buck!
